ASSIGNMENT 11

Please design a magazine or book cover (width: 700px, height: 865px, 300ppi).  The magazine/book title, content, and design are your choice. Here is an example.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 layers, including a background layer (0.5 points);
  • All the layers should have a transparent background (except the background layer). This means: an image should not have a white background (0.5 points);
  • Some layers are overlapping (0.5 points);
  • Some layers are transparent to a certain degree (0.5 points);
  • Create a text layer where an image can see through using clipping mask or layer mask (1 point);
  • Sign your initials and create other text layers as necessary (0.5 points);
  • Apply at least 1 layer style – Drop Shadow, Bevel, Emboss, Inner Glow, or Outer Glow (0.5 points).

***When you are done, please

    1. save it as a .psd file format and upload it to the Blackboard under Assignments > Week11 (1 point).
    2. save it as a .png file format and insert it in the content area of your Week 11 page (as the example). Indicate in a few sentences on this Week 11 page what techniques you have used and where they are (1 point).
    3. add a link to this page to the menu bar of your Week 7 page (which is the front page linked to our class website)

Submitting your .psd file to the Blackboard is required for this assignment!! You will be graded after I receive the .psd file.
